Call-out for Submissions

Thank you for your interest in Fringe of Colour Films 2021!

Submissions for this year’s festival are now closed.

We are looking to programme all kinds of filmed performance art for the 2021 Fringe of Colour Films online arts festival. This includes stage performances, readings, stand-up, sketches, dance, music, documentary and animation, as well as more traditional short films or anything that falls under the banner of "visual art". Our programme will mostly be made up of short films, however we may accept some feature-length content.

Fringe of Colour Films is a platform that will showcase work by Black artists and Artists of Colour who are looking for a community for their work to be in conversation with. We combine screenings with written Responses, events and discussions, and this year we are offering a development programme to help you to make sure your film reaches as many audiences as possible.

All the films selected for Fringe of Colour Films 2021 will have, at the very least, English subtitles or captions, British Sign Language Interpretation and Audio Descriptions. If your film is selected for the programme, but does not yet have all of these access tools, our team will work with you to create them as part of the screening package. You would be able to re-use these tools wherever you take your film next.

Our screening package also includes access to free film development workshops with Fringe of Colour for all artists taking part in this year's festival. More information about those workshops will be made available on selection.

If your film is selected for the festival, you will receive a screening fee. The fees are as follows - £20 (films under 2 minutes), £50 (films between 2 and 5 minutes long), £100 (films between 5 and 15 minutes long) and £150 (films over 15 minutes).

The following application form will be used to gather some information about you and your film, as well as giving you a chance to let us know why you would like to be involved in Fringe of Colour Films 2021. We will also ask you to upload your film to this form, or to send us a downloadable link to your film. If your film is not finished yet, we encourage you to return to this form later when it is ready (within the deadline period that ends on 26th April) or to get in touch with us at fringeofcolour@gmail.com.

If you are struggling to fill out this application form, please try this external link.
